Pentacles are apparatus used to perform Rituals to summon a spirit from The Other and bind it into a creature or magical item, or command it to perform a task the summoner cannot.
Construction[]
A pentacle is constructed by drawing a circle of Chalk runes on a flat surface, arranging magical Paraphernalia around it, and placing a Golden Sacrificial Bowl in the center. Clear a suitable space, and consult the Dictionary of Spirits to place a transparent guide into your world, centered on where the bowl would be placed. A progress bar indicates how much of the construction is correct.
When using Chalk to draw runes, the actual shape drawn on an individual block doesn't matter, only the color. To change the shape drawn, use the same chalk again.
In the images below, the Wither Skulls have been placed on purple-veined Crying Obsidian blocks for contrast. The direction Skulls and Wither Skulls face is of no import.
As each ritual requires the sacrificing of one or more items, plain Sacrificial Bowls are also required. These can be placed on any empty space within the circle or nearby, as long as they stay within a certain radius of the golden bowl, and at the same height.
Common Rituals[]
So far the Dictionary of Spirits lists thirteen pentacles, each with a specific purpose. Eleven of these can be categorized both by their purpose and the type of spirit involved.

If there is a circle for commanding a Marid to possess a creature, the details of its construction are lost for now.
Unbound Summoning[]
In addition to the pentacles above, there are two more for summoning unbound spirits, generally to fight and kill them for their essences:
